Wright McKinley Boney, Jr., age85, of Steens, MS, passed away September 19, 2022, at his residence. Funeral services will be Friday, September 23, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel with Rev. Ben Yarber officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Thursday, September 22, 2022, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory. Mr. Boney was born March 17, 1937, in Dublin, GA, to the late Wright McKinley and Lela Stapp Boney, Sr. He served in the United States Air Force from 1956 - 1960. Mr. Boney was a farmer for many years. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Hays Boney of Steens, MS, sons, Stanley McKinley Boney and his wife Tina of Caledonia, MS, and Victor Wright Boney of Steens, MS, brother, Terry Boney of Dublin, GA, sister, Patricia Boney Smith and her husband Julian of Wrightsville, GA, granddaughter, Allison Finch and her husband Austin, and great granddaughter, Isabelle Jordan Finch. Pallbearers will be Steve Swedenburg, Daniel Ponds, Ron Budd, Austin Finch, Patrick Hays, and Chris Griffin. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
