WILLIE M. BOOZER
Willie Miles Boozer, age 90, died Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Dugan Methodist Senior Services Nursing Home in West Point. Services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Columbus Church of Christ, 2401 7th Street North, with Minister Don Cole officiating, and burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Boozer was born on Friday, April 12, 1929 in Fayette, AL to the late Henry F. and Lessie Duckworth Miles. Willie was a member of the Columbus Church of Christ and a graduate of Fayette High School, Fayette, Alabama. She was a retired dental assistant and administrator.
Willie lived her adult life at her home in Columbus on College Street and was a wonderful, caring person, always putting others ahead of her own needs. She survived three husbands, nursing them when their health failed. Her last years were spent at Dugan Nursing Home in West Point, where she participated in all the daily activities and enjoyed singing in the Golden Choir. She made many friends among the elders and staff, and her family appreciates the wonderful care she received during her time there. Willie was a faithful and dedicated member of the Columbus (7th Street) Church of Christ. She was a sweet, generous woman who will be greatly missed by friends and family.”
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Jack Burrage, second husband Dean Stewart, her third husband George Boozer, her sisters, Mary Shaw and Helen Edmonson, and her brothers, James Miles, and Danny Miles.
