WILLIAM “BILL” LANGFORD

William Earl “Bill” Langford, age 73, of Caledonia, MS, passed away May 20, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.  A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory 716 2 ^nd Ave. North location is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Langford was born August 12, 1946, in Columbus, MS, to William “Titum” Langford of Caledonia, MS, and the late Minnie Pearl Monasco Langford.  He was a veteran of Vietnam and Korea serving in the United States Army.  Mr. Langford worked for many years as a police officer and security guard.  He also worked as a deputy sheriff in Lowndes County, Lee County, and Pickens County, AL.  Mr. Langford loved spending time with his daughter, grandchildren, and all family, and his dog “Corky.” He enjoyed country music and singing.  In addition to his mother, Mr. Langford was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Sides, brother, Lonnie Langford, and sister, Ruth Ann Langford.

Survivors include his daughter, Crystal Whitehead of West Point, MS, son Rocky Sides of Vernon, AL, sisters, Bonnie Cantrell and her husband Allen of Caledonia, MS, Mary Nichols Nelson of Mulberry, IN, Norma Jean Langford of Caledonia, MS, Judy Langford Hendon and her husband Lloyd of West Point, MS, Linda Langford and her husband Kenny of Ethelsville, AL, Katina Langford McGee of Grenada, MS, and Mary Jane Langford Dunser of Caledonia, MS, grandchildren, Jasmine Langford, Abbigail Pugh, Scott Pugh, Minnie Pugh, Matthew Sides, Chase Sides, Tyler Sides, Trey Sides, Aaron Sides, Alex Sides, Wesley Morrison, Judson Morrison, and Ashley Lugo  and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Anna Langford, and the nurses, staff, and hospice of Baptist Memorial Hospital for their love and care.
