TOM WELLS

Willard Thomas “Tom” Wells, age 80, of Columbus, MS, passed away October 10, 2019, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS.  Funeral services will be Thursday, October 17, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel College St. location with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating.  The interment will follow at the North Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Kilmichael, MS.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

Mr. Wells was born July 3, 1939, in Starkville, MS, to the late Willard I. and Leona Shirley Wells.  He was a graduate of S. D. Lee High School and received his associates degree from Hinds Community College.  Mr. Wells attended Mississippi State University and was a veteran of the United States Army.  He owned and operated Regal Carpet Cleaners for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Hunter Wells of Columbus, MS, son, Willard Thomas “Chip” Wells of Byram, MS, brother, John E. Wells of Starkville, MS, sister, Shirley Tennyson of New York, NY, and grandchildren, Tyler Wells of Portland, OR, and Ferrah Wells of Columbus, MS.
