Vernon Hulett

VERNON HULETT - Vernon Lee Hulett, Jr., age 59, of Caledonia, MS, passed away March 26, 2022, in his family home.  A memorial service will be Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Caledonia Baptist Church located at 7840 Wolfe Road, Columbus, MS 39705 with Pastor Kelby Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

Mr. Hulett was born September 18, 1962, in Riverside, CA, to the late Vernon Lee and Elwin Williams Hulett.  He was a graduate of Caledonia High School and East Mississippi Junior College where he received his degree in Forestry. In addition to serving as a loving husband and father he served the Golden Triangle area with pride as a painter and contractor for nearly four decades. In line with his education he was also an avid outdoorsman and conservationist.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Metzger Hulett of Caledonia, MS, and sons, Phillip Lee Hulett and Vernon "Wesley" Hulett, both of Caledonia, MS.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lowndes County Volunteer Fire Department, District 1, members of which arrived quickly and fought to save him prior to the arrival of EMS. Donations may be sent to Lowndes Co. District One, 169 Main Street, Caledonia, MS 39740.
