Robert Todd Waldrop passed away on Jan 8, 2020 at the age of 42 in Lowndes County, MS.

Services will be held Monday January 13, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the 716 2 nd Ave North Chapel of Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home with Rev. Redus Hall and Rev. Steve Brown officiating; burial will follow at Forest United Methodist Church Cemetery in Ethelsville, AL. Visitation will be held Sunday January 12, 2020 from 4 until 6 at the 716 2 nd Ave North location.

Todd was born August 14, 1977 in Columbus to Robert William and Mary Elizabeth McCrary Waldrop. He attended Caldwell High and graduated from Columbus High School in 1996 after consolidation. During high school he was chosen for American Legion Boys State. He attended M. U. W. until he found his interest in taxidermy and began an apprenticeship in fur tanning and taxidermy.

Todd had a love for sports and athletic competition. He began playing soccer at an early age and played High School Soccer from the seventh grade until graduation and recreationally into his adult years. He participated in the Columbus Adult Soccer League. He was looking forward playing again this year. He coached in the youth league for several years and was affectionately called “Coach Todd” by many area children. He participated in BMX racing on the local, state and internal level.   He was a Mississippi State Champion and finished in the National Bicycle League top 10 nationally for 7 year. He competed in the World Championship in Orlando Fl. In football, he was a two year letterman for the Columbus High Falcons. Todd was an avid Auburn fan, and an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He loved animals and was frequently accompanied by one of canine companions especially “Bud Bud”. He raised beagles and loved to rabbit hunt. Thru the years, he introduced numerous people to the sounds of beagles on the chase of a rabbit.   He was a member of The Big Bud Hunting Club for all of his adult life and it was his favorite place.   He was a volunteer at Camp Rising Sun.

Todd was the owner of Trophy Room Taxidermy.   He was an award winning taxidermist at the state and regional level. He conducted seminars and taught other taxidermist at conventions and in his shop.

Todd accepted Christ as his Savior and joined the Methodist in his teens.   Later he visited various denominations.

Todd is survived by his wife Brandy Moore Waldrop, his sons Ty Durant and Jax William, his father, Robert “Bob” Waldrop and his mother Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Waldrop, his sister Robyn Michelle Peterson, her husband James “Jim”, and their sons Brett and Zach. His mother and father-in-law, Steve and Martha Moore, sister and brother-in-law Jessica and Jake Weseli and their children, Hayden and Henry. Extended family members, Bubba and Brenda Comer, Vee and Beth Ferguson, and members of the Laws family.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Jeremy Broome, Daniel Carter, Jericho Bates, Daniel Watson, Adam Dodd, Larry Swearingen, Jeff Bond, Levaris "Punchy" Williams, and Loyd Christmas

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Alex Bartley, Shane Floyd, Tim Brooks, John Laws Ferguson Jr., the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department, Greg Merchant and the Lowndes County Coroner’s office, Big Bud Hunting Club Members, and friends of the Outcast Beagle Association.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
