Tim Hargett

John Timothy "Tim" Hargett, age 55, of Columbus, MS, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel with Rev. Sammy Crawford officiating.  The interment will immediately follow at Furnace Hill Cemetery in Vernon, AL.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
Mr. Hargett was born August 1, 1967, in Columbus, MS, to the late James and Frances Springfield Hargett.  He was a graduate of Lee High School and the Mississippi University for Women with a degree in business administration.  Tim worked for Merchant Electric and Weathers Electric for many years.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Reau Berry Sunday School Class.  Tim's greatest passion was music having played for many years at different venues in Columbus.  He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar and performed alongside Tony Derrico for a number of years.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stan Hargett.
Survivors include his brother, Ken Hargett of Columbus, MS, sister-in-law, Stacy Hargett of Oxford, MS, a host of nieces and nephews, and his many friends.
Pallbearers will be his many friends.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Reau Berry Sunday School Class, P.O. box 829, Columbus, MS, 39703.
