Timmy Flye

Timothy "Timmy" Wayne Flye, age 60, of Steens, MS, passed away March 9, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus. Funeral services will be Friday, March 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Ty Danielson officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in New Hope.

Timmy was born February 3, 1965, in Columbus, MS, to the late Edward Wayne Flye and Myrtle Christine Oswalt Flye. He attended New Hope High School and was employed at International Paper for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman, and a member of the Big Horn Hunting Club. He loved hunting, and fishing bass tournaments, and was a lover of Ole Miss football. Timmy cherished his family and friends, and his loving smile will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Shelby Taylor Flye, his mother, Myrtle Christine Oswalt Flye, step-daughter, Patti Ann, step-son, Christopher Byron, brothers, Danny Flye, and Tony Flye, sisters, Kathy Hudson, and Diane Werner, step-granddaughters, McKenzie, Maddi, and Noelle, and step-grandsons, Byron, and Jacob. He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Wayne Flye, step-son, James Michael Lyons, and step-grandson, Garret Christopher Hocutt.

Pallbearers will be, Chad Flye, Cory Flye, Scotty Murrah, Chip Smith, Mark Young, and Perry Hickman.

Honorary Pallbearers will be, Scott Smith, Greg Burrage, Mark Trull, Cliff Wilkerson, Ken Kemp, Danny Drogula, Jimmy Johnson, and the technicians from International Paper Co.
