TOMMY BETTS

Thomas Edward "Tommy" Betts, age 76, of Columbus, MS, passed away September 25, 2022, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point, MS.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel with Matt Moehring and Sonny McLellan officiating.  The interment will immediately follow at Lone Oak Cemetery in Steens, MS.  Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.

Mr. Betts was born March 14, 1946, in Columbus, MS, to the late William B. and Eugenia Wells Betts.  He was a graduate of Caledonia High School.  Mr. Betts worked in the building supply industry for many years, having worked at New Home Building Store, Builders World, and retiring from Cash & Carry.  He was a lifelong member of Lone Oak Church of Christ and enjoyed and loved music, especially Bluegrass.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Judith Curtis Betts, and granddaughter, Judith Kathryn "Ryn" Williams.

Survivors include his daughter, Amy Williams of Columbus, MS, sister, Linda Hollowell of Caledonia, MS, grandson, Thomas Wilbert "Will" Williams, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Steve Westbrook, Keith Westbrook, Wesley Westbrook, Ethan Oswalt, John Curtis "J. C." Dodson, and Greg Wheat.
