SUE MCARTHUR

Sue Sanders McArthur, age 99, of Columbus, MS, passed away May 31, 2021, at Trinity Healthcare.  Funeral services will be Friday, June 4, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel 716 2 ^nd Ave. North location with Rev. Earl McAnally officiating.  The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.

Mrs. McArthur was born on Monday, December 12, 1921, in Steens, MS, to the late H. G. “Grady” Sanders and Trudy Marshall Ray.  She was a member of Covenant Methodist Church and was a retired bookkeeper from Hardins Bakery and the MS State Tax Commission.  She was married to the late O. A. McArthur.  Her hobbies included playing golf, find-a-word puzzles and traveling with many summers spent at Eagle River, WI.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Howard Sanders and Earlie Sanders, and sister, Ruby Sanders Bowie.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, Josie Boyle, Sandy Sanders and his wife Donna, Harry Sanders and his wife Maryke, Carolyn Herting and her husband Dave, Mike Sanders and his wife Silvia, Betty Burch and her husband Manny, Vicky Griffith and her husband Scott, and Melanie Roe, and numerous great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and great great great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be nephews and great nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Brett Brown and the staffs of Trinity Personal Care and Trinity Healthcare.
