Steven C. Wallace, age 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 27th, 2021. He was born May 20, 1951. A 1969 graduate of Lee High School, Steve went on to graduate with an electrical engineering degree from Mississippi State University, an accounting degree from the Mississippi University for Women, and finally, a law degree from the University of Mississippi. He married Teena (White) Wallace on October 19th, 1992 in Columbus, MS. Steve practiced law in Columbus for 17 years, giving 15 years as a Public Defender, and most recently waselected as the Lowndes County Prosecuting Attorney. He was a devoted man of faith, and loved his family, country, and Columbus. He lived his life to the fullest, enjoyed simple pleasures, and was a friend to everyone he met. Steve was known for his witty anecdotes, infectious smile, and constant encouragement. To know him was to love him. Steve is survived by his son and daughter, Colt Wallace and Clara Wallace; his Stepchildren, Bill Sugg, Gregory Sugg, and Christy White; a sister, Betty (Wallace) Faulkner, a nephew, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Eddie Wallace and Bessie (Acker) Wallace; his wife, Teena Wallace; and his brothers, Ed Wallace and Tommy Wallace. Family, friends, and all others impacted by the life of Steve Wallace are invited to Fairview Baptist Church, 127 Airline Rd.
