STEPHANIE DAWN BASSON

Stephanie passed away at Baptist Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus, MS on Tuesday August 27, 2024 from complications of NASH liver disease. She is survived by her parents James Howard and Jeanette  B (Beasley)Basson, sister Angie(Angela Lyn) Basson, brother Randy Basson, Randy’s wife Melanie (Lee) Basson, and her niece Savanah Leann Lawson. She is also survived by many other family members and friends. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday September 8, 2024, 3:00pm at Murrah’s Chapel Baptist Church, 9297 Hwy 69 South, Columbus, MS.

Stephanie loved the Lord. She was an active member of Murrah’s Chapel Baptist Church until her illness made that impossible. She sang in the choir, was active in jail ministry, worked with missions, led the crafts during VBS, and took part in whatever other activities the church was involved in whenever she could.

Stephanie loved animals. She had a few of her own over the years, and never met one she didn’t try to pet or take home with her. She also liked to be creative. She loved singing and playing music. She played the bass clarinet, saxophone, guitar, and mandolin. She was artistic as well. She created several paintings and other crafts that she gifted to friends and family. When it came to crafts of any kind, she was willing to try them all.

Most of all though, Stephanie loved the Lord, her family, and her friends. She was grounded in her faith and wasn’t ashamed to tell you about it. She didn’t really make a distinction between family and friend. If you were close to Stephanie, you knew this. She would love and care for you just the same. She tried to help anyone she could if she knew they needed it.
