SIMM TAYLOR - Henry Simmons "Simm" Taylor, IV, age 66, of Columbus, MS, passed away August 10, 2023, at Baptist Memorial East Hospital in Memphis, TN.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel.  Visitation will be from 1:30 PM until the time of the service.  A graveside committal will be held at a later date at Highland Cemetery in Lawton, OK.  Becker - Rabon Funeral Home of Lawton will be in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Taylor was born June 4, 1957, in Richmond, VA, to the late Henry Simmons and Stana Helen Young Taylor, III. As the son of an Army officer, he lived in Germany,  England, and many parts of the United States. He was a graduate of Lawton High School and attended Oklahoma State University and the University of West Alabama in Livingston, where he met his wife Lee.  Mr. Taylor worked in timber management for many years for American Can and James River.  He enjoyed hunting, especially turkey and duck hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He was an avid reader and had a special affinity for dogs, especially his Australian shepherds.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Miles "Lee" Taylor of Columbus, MS, brother, Craig S. Taylor and his wife Kista of Apache, OK, niece Kaitlyn Taylor Knott, and nephews, Morgan Taylor, Patrick Miles, Austin Miles, and Caden Miles, and four great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Columbus Lowndes Humane Society, P.O. Box 85, Columbus, MS, 39703, the American Cancer Society, or to any charitable organization.
