SARAH McALEXANDER

Sarah Ann McCormick McAlexander, age 89, of Columbus, MS, passed away April 20, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.  Graveside services will be Thursday, April 22, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Sammy Crawford and Rev. Tommy Gillon officiating.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory 903 College St. location is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McAlexander was born May 30, 1931, in Holly Springs, MS, to the late Thomas E. and Annie Stroupe McCormick.  She was a graduate of Holly Springs High School and attended the University of Mississippi.  Mrs. McAlexander, along with her late husband, Fred Albert McAlexander, owned and operated Park Roller Palace Skating Rink.  She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Forrester.

Survivors include her sons, Jim McAlexander and his wife Lisa of Columbus, MS, and Steve McAlexander and his wife Courtney of Columbus, MS, grandchildren, Sarah McAlexander Bean and her husband Bryant, Courtney McAlexander, and Noel McAlexander, and great grandchildren, Molly James Bean, Graham Bean, and Brantley Thompson.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Fairview Baptist Church and all friends of the family.
