Sarah Elizabeth Adkins

Sarah Elizabeth Burns Adkins, age 81, of Columbus, MS, passed away December 19, 2019, at her residence. Funeral services will be Monday, December 23, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel, 716 2nd Ave. North location, with Robin Elmore officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery near Millport, AL. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
Mrs. Adkins was born April 20, 1938, in Millport, AL, to the late Joe Bailey and Lucy Blackston Burns. She was a member of Community Baptist Church. Mrs. Adkins enjoyed crafts, sewing, flowers, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Ronnie Ray Adkins, Terry Adkins, and Joseph Adkins; daughter, Charlotte Watkins; brother, Roy E. Burns; grandson, Ricky Lewis Adkins; and nephew, Wesley Burns.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Price and her husband, Rick, of Columbus, MS; son, Ricky Adkins of Columbus, MS; sisters, Doris Daniel and her husband, John, of Columbus, MS, and Dorothy Burns of Columbus, MS; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Adkins, John Adkins, Timothy Adkins, Charlie Price, Adam Prater, Matthew Thornbrough and Joey Adkins.
