Sandra "Sam" Sanderson Chestnut

SANDRA CHESNUT - Sandra Brook "Sam" Sanderson Chesnut, age 80, of Columbus, MS, passed away September 19, 2023, at her residence.  Funeral services will be Friday, September 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel with Rev. Pam Rhea officiating.  The interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
Mrs. Chesnut was born July 21, 1943, in Tuscaloosa, AL, to the late Dr. Clarence Lee and Myrtle Johnson Brook, Sr.  She was a graduate of Tuscaloosa High School and attended Judson College and the University of Alabama.  Mrs. Chesnut was the president and CEO of Sanderson Plumbing Products, Inc. from 1986 - 2012.  She served on the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and also served on the board of the Columbus Lowndes Humane Society.  She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the Columbus Rotary Club.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, George N. "Bud" Sanderson and Oliver Powe Chesnut, Jr., and brother Clarence C. "Bubba" Brook, Jr.
