Gene Holley

Roy "Gene" Holley, age 73, of Columbus, MS, passed away August 7, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Kosciusko, MS.  Funeral services will be Friday, August 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel with Rev. Anthony Miller officiating.  The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus with military honors.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
Mr. Holley was born January 1, 1950, in Silver City, MS, to the late Mark Preston and Johnnie Mae McKlemurry Holley.  He was a veteran of Vietnam serving in the United States Army.  Mr. Holley worked at Dutch Oil, Burkhalter Rigging, and Holley Enterprises.  He was a member of Living Faith Tabernacle Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Joy Allen and Priscilla Allen.
Survivors include his wife, Angie Taylor Holley of Columbus, MS, sons, Richard Holley and his husband Michael Tilley of Gordo, AL, Darrell Holley and his wife Ashley of Starkville, MS, and Billy Holley of Vernon, AL, brothers, Charles Frazier and Kenneth Holley, sisters, Patricia Smith and Frances Hargraves, grandchildren, Kenzie Holley, D. W. Holley, Dominic Holley, and Alyssa Holley, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
