Roscoe C. Shepherd of Columbus, Mississippi

March 8, 1943 - June 1, 2019

Roscoe C. Shepherd age 76, died Saturday, June 01, 2019 at his residence in Columbus.  Services will be held Wednesday June 5, 2019 at 3:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating, burial will follow at Beersheba Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the church.

Roscoe was born on Monday, March 08, 1943 in Columbus, MS to the late Roscoe C. and Mildred Mabus Shepherd. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Columbus and a retired auto mechanic and former owner/operator of Joe’s Electric.

Roscoe was a “Jack of all trades” and spent numerous hours working on ball fields, racecars, and the First Baptist Church, Bluecutt Road property. He enjoyed playing ball and later coached kids alongside his wife Cary. He dearly loved his wife of 52 years Cary Gooch Shepherd and lovingly cared for her during her illness and passing in 2015.

Roscoe was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend, he will be missed by many.

In addition to his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Wade Shepherd.
