ROGER HIETT

Roger Dean Hiett age 69 died Tuesday, July 05, 2022 at his sister’s residence in Steens. Services will be held Monday, July 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel with Pastor Jack Taylor    officiating, burial will follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. Visitation will be held Monday one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Mr. Hiett was born on Monday, June 29, 1953 in Anniston, AL to the late Clifford Wade and Annie Ruth Sims Hiett. He loved to sing and sang in the Hiett Family Gospel Group, as a teenager and attended Soul’s Harbor Church. He was a 1973 graduate of New Hope High School, and a huge Mississippi State and Alabama fan. He was a friend to all, loved to make people laugh, and never met a stranger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nieces, Maria Ann Taylor, Karen Taylor Maxey and her husband Shawn, and great niece, Ally Elizabeth Maxey

Survivors include:

Sisters: Ila Kay Taylor (Jack), Steens, MS, Holly Cecelia Stephens, (Allen), Columbus, MS

Nephew: Benjamin Stephens, nieces: Halley Stephens Winter, and Stacey Stephens, great nephews: Kyle and Jay Maxey, and great nieces: Angel Ferguson, Kaylee and River Winter.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Kyle Maxey, Jay Maxey, Allen Stephens, Benjamin Stephens, Patrick Winter, J.T. Taylor, and Johnny Taylor.
