RICHARD FLEMING

Richard Powell Fleming Jr., age 76, of Columbus, MS, passed away May 7, 2024, at Sanctuary   Hospice House in Tupelo, MS .  Visitation will be held at 10:00, Main Street Presbyterian Church in Columbus. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 with Rev. Aaron Suber and Dr. Jim Shull officiating, Saturday May 11, 2024.   The interment will immediately follow in Friendship Cemetery. Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Richard was born April 9, 1948, in Columbus, MS, to the late Richard Powell and Mary McGuire Fleming.  He had two sisters, Linda Fleming Norris, now deceased and Kay Fleming Willis of Birmingham, AL. Richard graduated from S.D. Lee High School in Columbus.  He attended Marion Military Institute, East Mississippi Junior College and Mississippi State University.  He owned and operated Ultratek Industries which made disposable industrial garments until he retired.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Richard is survived by his wife, Nell Tribble Fleming, one daughter Wendy Herron and her husband Glenn Herron and one grandson Jacob Logan Herron

Richard was a member of Main Street Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon for many years
