Richard Dease

RICHARD DEASE - Richard Sterling Dease, also known as Wizard and KF5AZ, age 78, of Columbus, MS, passed away October 6, 2022, at the State Veterans Home in Kosciusko, MS. Funeral services will be Monday, October 10, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel with Rev. Mitch McWilliams officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus with military honors. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Mr. Dease was born December 17, 1943, in Atlanta, GA, to the late Claude Theo and Martha Evelyn Ozburn Dease. He was a graduate of Forrest Park High School. Mr. Dease was a veteran of Vietnam serving and retiring from the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Linda Roberts Dease of Columbus, MS, daughters, Anita Cumberland and her husband Dwight of Caledonia, MS, and Lisa George and her husband Michael of Columbus, MS, brother, Dennis T. Dease and his wife Sherry of FL, grandchildren, Jonathan Cumberland and his wife Lyndsay, Rachel Clayton, and Evan Pate, and great grandchildren, Kenleigh Morrison, Olivia Cumberland, and Elizabeth Cumberland. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity. The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff of Quality Hospice and the State Veterans Home, especially Candance Ables.
