On Monday, June 28th, 2021, Margaret Renée Taylor, loving wife and mother of three, went to be with her Heavenly Father while at her home surrounded by family. Renée was born November 6 th , 1938 in Hattiesburg, MS. A celebration of her life will be held at First Baptist Church of Columbus on Saturday, July 3 rd at 2:00 PM with Rev. Kevin Cuthbertson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The burial will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery in Columbus.
She married the love of her life, David Franklin Taylor, on March 16th, 1957. Renée was a dedicated mother to her three daughters and was a humble servant to her community and to her Lord. She was a pioneer as a military wife living abroad and was able to make any place a true home. Renée spent her early years raising her three daughters as a stay at home mother before becoming Personnel Manager at JC Penney’s where she retired in 1998 . Renée served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader during her daughters’ time in Girl Scouts. She was a passionate and skilled seamstress. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbus. One of the causes closest to her heart was the homebound ministry which she co- founded at First Baptist Church. She was also involved in the Emmaus Community.
Renée was preceded in death by her parents Margaret Juanita Howell and Arthur Glenn Howell, brother Charles Howell and sister Sarah Satchell . Renée is survived by her husband David Taylor and three daughters, Tammy Livingston of Baltimore, MD; Jody Peters of Columbus, MS; and Jennifer Schaffhauser (John) of Madison, MS . She also leaves behind seven grandchildren : David Randle (Emily) of Madison , MS ; Lacey Livingston Houston (Chase) of Sparks, MD ; Gracie Schaffhauser Chesnut (Scott) of Madison, MS ; Leah Peters of Columbus, MS ; John Taylor Schaffhauser (Taylor) of Madison, MS ; Lorianna Livingston of Gainesville, FL ; and Samuel Livingston of Canton, MS ; 5 great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, Jack.
