Rebecca "Becky" Louise Shepherd

BECKY SHEPHERD - Rebecca Louise "Becky" Shepherd, age 73, of Columbus, MS, passed away December 19, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be Friday, December 23, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Hurt officiating and Rev. David Honeycutt assisting.  The interment will immediately follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday, December 22, 2022, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service on Friday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Shepherd was born December 9, 1949, in Vaiden, MS, to the late Jesse and Louise Breazeale Compton.  She was a graduate of Vaiden High School and attended Holmes Junior College.  Mrs. Shepherd was a bus driver and cafeteria worker for the New Hope School District for over 20 years.  She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Fred Shepherd of Columbus, MS, sons, Neil Shepherd of Columbus, MS, and Steve Shepherd and his wife Morgan of Starkville, MS, daughter, Karen Pintican and her husband Emanuel of Columbus, MS, brother, Lamar Compton and his wife Linda of Kosciusko, MS, and grandchildren, Cody Shepherd, Gentry Penley, and Judson Shepherd.

Pallbearers will be Cody Shepherd, Terry Nickoles, Scott Tolleson, David Bartimus, Glyn Lowe, and Dennis Holliman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Otts, W. L. Godfrey, Joe Reeder, and all past and present members of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
