RAYMOND HYLAN SILAS

Raymond Hylan Silas, 51, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus, MS.  A private family memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 1:00pm at the Silas residence in Steens, MS. Arrangments are being handled by Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory, College St. Location.

Raymond was born on July 5, 1970 in Pottsdan, New York to the late Mary Jane Shirley.  Raymond was an avid outdoorsman and also enjoyed racing, Alabama Football, and hunting.  He and his wife, Melissa, were married on July 8, 1991.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents: Hylan and Mary Shirley.

Surviving Raymond are his wife: Melissa Tipton Silas; brothers: David Silas (Lisa) of Tupelo, MS and Robert Silas (Cathy) of Pasadena, TX; and five nephews, Christopher Tipton, Jeffery Tipton, Cohen Tipton, Jeffrey Silas, and Cyril Silas.
