Raymond Lowe of Columbus, Mississippi

RAYMOND LOWE

Raymond G. Lowe, 93 of Columbus, MS was called home to be with his heavenly Father on April 16, 2020, after a brief illness.

Mr. Lowe was born December 19, 1926, to the late Carl and Edna Lowe in Columbia, MS. At the early age of 17, he joined the United States Navy, and served on the USS Natoma Bay in the South Pacific. After the victory, he returned home to complete high school, earn his degree from Mississippi Southern, marry his sweetheart, Rachel Robertson, and joined the United States Air Force. Along the way, they were blessed with three children who took the journey with them to Alabama, Florida, Puerto Rico, Greece, and Mississippi. After 22 years of service, he retired at Columbus Air Force Base, and made Columbus home. After retirement, Mr. Lowe spent time drinking coffee with his coffee buddies, worked at John Wright’s Testing Lab, Weyerhaeuser, and made deliveries for Napa Auto Parts.

Raymond was a strong man of faith and a devoted member of Antioch Baptist Church, Columbus, MS, until a few years ago. He served the Lord faithfully there as a deacon, usher, Sunday School teacher, and choir member for over 50 years!

He lost his precious wife Rachel after 70 years of marriage, but leaves behind his Christian example to be forever cherished by his children:

Great Grandchildren:
Leslie Burns, Nathan Burns, Caitlyn Long, Tyler Long, Holden Burns, Briley Kate Burns, River Griffin, and Joanna Griffin.

Mr. Lowe was a proud veteran, wonderful father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who dearly loved his family, and was loved by all!
