RACHEL McGEE

Rachel Goodman McGee, age 88, of Columbus, MS, passed away July 4, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.  Graveside services will be Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McGee was born October 8, 1933, in Columbus, MS, to the late Wayman Guy and Sadie Shelton Goodman.  She was a graduate of S. D. Lee High School and worked for many years as a legal secretary and court reporter in Columbus and Lowndes County.  She and her late husband, Willard Paul McGee, owned and operated several businesses in Columbus after their retirement.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, David Earl Goodman and Bubba Goodman.

Survivors include her sons, Ronnie McGee and his wife Pam of Brandon, MS, and Randy McGee and his wife Jeanne of Columbus, MS, sister, Martha Waltman of Columbus, MS, brother, Pete Goodman of Columbus, MS, grandchildren, Gavin McGee and his wife Brittany, Erin Bragg and her husband Joey, and Grant McGee, and great grandchildren, Gracie McGee, Mollie McGee, Gibson McGee, Joanna Bragg, and Rachel Bragg.

Pallbearers will be Gavin McGee, Grant McGee, Joey Bragg, Terrell Wallingford, Spence Wallingford, and Chad Waltman.
