Perry Ernest Caldwell III, age 66 died Thursday, May 02, 2019 his residence in Columbus. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 07, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Charlie Whitney officiating

Mr. Caldwell was born on Thursday, April 6, 1953 in Columbus, MS to the late Perry E. Caldwell, Jr. and Frances Gaynell “Nell” James Caldwell. Mr. Caldwell was a 1972 graduate of Heritage Academy, and later earned a Bachelors Degree from New York University. He was a retired building inspector, having worked for the city of Columbus and Lowndes County. He also served 27 years in the U.S. Army National Guard and Reserve having attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During his time in the military he served in Special Forces, and was a Corp of Engineer Officer assigned as an instructor with the Army Command and General Staff College, 9 ^th Battalion 100 ^th Division.
