Mrs. Peggy Lavoy Crawford Haynes, age 88, died peacefully September 4th, 2019 at Sanctuary Hospice House, Tupelo. The third from the youngest of eleven children, she was the daughter of the late Pervy and Francis McGee Crawford. As a military family, they moved frequently and lived in eight states as well as Canada and Turkey. Following two years in Izmir, Turkey, Hershel retired and they settled in Columbus, MS with their children, Helen Haynes of Fort Worth, TX and the late Hershel Haynes Jr. (Buddy) of Columbus, MS. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hershel Haynes, her son, Hershel Haynes Jr. (Buddy), and her five brothers and five sisters. She is survived by her loving daughter, Helen Haynes, of Fort Worth, TX, her "adoptive" daughter, Bev Smitchens of Dayton, OH, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins she adored.
