Patsy Mcdaniel

Patricia Lockhart "Patsy" McDaniel, age 81, of Columbus, MS, passed away September 4, 2023, at Trinity Healthcare.  Graveside services will be Friday, September 8, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Millport City Cemetery with Allen Jones officiating.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McDaniel was born November 20, 1941, in Columbus, MS, to the late A. G. and Dorothy Pennington Lockhart.  She was a 1959 graduate of New Hope High School and 1963 graduate of Mississippi University for Women, and also received her masters degree from the University of Alabama.  Mrs. McDaniel worked as librarian and later became the Director of Alumni Relations at MUW for 47 years.  She was a long time member of the Steens Church of Christ.  She enjoyed traveling and tending to her flowers and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Franklin McDaniel.
Survivors include her son, Ronnie McDaniel and his wife Lisa of Columbus, MS, daughter, Holly Church and her husband Jeff of Hoover, AL, brothers, Bill Lockhart, Frank Lockhart, and Paul Lockhart, all of Columbus, MS, grandchildren, Sarah Lloyd and her husband Ryan, Victoria Sharp and her husband Anthony, Connor Church, and Carson Church, and great grandchildren, Charlotte Lloyd and Elliott Sharp.
Pallbearers will be Connor Church, Carson Church, Ryan Lloyd, Anthony Sharp, Bill Black, Phillip Black, Kenny Wayne McDaniel, and Ray McDaniel.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Speed, Mitchell Speed, Cary Hudson, Elliott Sharp, Gordy Koenigsberger, J. M. Hawkins, members of the Steens Church of Christ, staff of Trinity Healthcare, and staff of Gentiva Hospice.
