Pamela Pritchett Pevey

June 20, 1963 — August 6, 2019

Pamela Joyce Pritchett Pevey, age 56, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus. Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory, 2 nd Avenue North location. Visitation will be Friday, August 16, 2019 at 1:00 PM, with a memorial service at 2:00, with Pastor Jimmy Banks officiating, at Memorial Funeral Home, 2 nd Avenue North location.

Pam was born June 20, 1963 in Selma, AL, to O.T.Pritchett and the late Barbara McCrary Pritchett. She attended Robert S. Caldwell High School in Columbus. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter JoAnna Faye Stricklin.

Pam married the love of her life, John M. Pevey, on June 24, 1995 in Columbus and raised their seven children together. They resided in Columbus and were longtime members of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Pam professed her life to Jesus Christ at an early age. She loved children and spent many years as a Sunday School teacher and worked often in the church nursery. She also helped raise many children throughout the community and developed a special bond with them.

Pam loved crocheting, reading, praying for others, laughing and spending time with her close friends, family and especially her grandchildren. She was caring and loved everyone deeply and unconditionally. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend, always thinking of others first. “To know her was to love her.”

Pam leaves to cherish her memory her father O.T. Pritchett, her husband John M. Pevey, her children Kevin Pevey (Ashley), Ashlee Bryan (Ivan), Amanda VanHouten (Christopher), Jason Stricklin (DeAnna), Britanie Spurr, Sarah Farwick (Chris) and Tiffany Pevey. She is also survived by her sisters Terry Thompson (Tom), Charlotte Masek (Bob) and Sharon Pritchett (Scott) , eighteen grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
