MORRIS BOONE MORRIS BOONE - Morris Max Boone, age 91, of Columbus, MS, passed away July 14, 2022, at his residence. Funeral services will be Monday, July 18, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel with Pastor Andy Setiawan officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Cooper Cemetery near Detroit, AL. Visitation will be Sunday, July 17, 2022, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory. Mr. Boone was born March 2, 1931, in Noxubee County, MS, to the late Walter Lee and Mary Jane Young Boone. He was a veteran of Korea serving in the United States Army. Mr. Boone retired from Beneke Corporation and Universal Industries. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Ruby Boone and Maxine Boone, and eight siblings. Survivors include his daughter, Wanda Treece and her husband Tony of Columbus, MS, step sons, Terry Stephenson and his wife Angie of Northport, AL, and Chris Stockman and his wife Andrea of Reform, AL, step daughter, Cheryl Ragsdale and her husband Tommy of Northport, AL, sisters, Agnes Darling of Jackson, MS, and Louise Mosher of Meridian, MS, grandchildren, Toni Trull and her husband Dale, Doug Noland, Jr., Misty Johnson, Natasha Perkins and her husband Jimmy, Travis Stockman, and Christopher Stockman, numerous great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the staff of Kindred Hospice and Help at Home.
