Mildred Christine Jaynes of Columbus, Mississippi

Mildred Christine Jaynes, age 92 died Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Vineyard Court Nursing Center in Columbus. Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 2:30 PM at Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jearl Hunley officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel 2 ^nd Ave N.

Mrs. Jaynes was born on Tuesday, February 22, 1927 in Crawford, MS to the late     Clyde and Geneva Williams Schoggen.  She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a graduate of S.D. Lee High School. After the military career of her late husband Floyd Jaynes, she worked at Humbolt and Western Textile, after retirement she volunteered at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus as a “Pink Lady”. She was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide football fan. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter Nancy Jaynes Parra, and her brothers, Leroy Schoggen and Richard Schoggen.
