Mary Frances Manning, 79, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully August 28, 2020 in Flower Mound TX, surrounded by the love of her family. Mary Frances was born in Columbus, MS on April 20, 1941 to William C. “Red” Manning and Thelma Carley Manning.
She was a lifelong resident of Columbus until she relocated to Flower Mound, TX to be closer to family for health reasons. She was a 1959 graduate of S.D. Lee High School, and attended Mississippi University for Women. She worked at Seminole/American Trouser from young adulthood until her retirement. She was a wonderful, dedicated, and loyal employee who took great pride in her work. She was an avid animal lover, enjoyed traveling,reading, and spending time with her friends and former classmates. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mary Frances had a loving, kind heart and caregiving came naturally to her. She cared for her elderly mother, her many nieces and nephews, and always made time for a friend in need. Her light and warmth will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sister, Doris Manning Wingo of Flower Mound, TX, her brother, John Thomas Manning of Norco, CA, and many nieces and nephews and their families. Visitation will be held at Memorial Gunter and Peel Funeral Home , 2nd Avenue North location, on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 1:00 pm . A graveside service will immediately follow at 2:00 pm in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with Bill Honsinger officiating.
