Mary Joyce Gilbert of Columbus, Mississippi

Mary Joyce Gilbert, 88, died Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle. Graveside Services will be Tuesday July 9, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Friendship Cemetery with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating.  Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory, College Street location. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery.

The daughter of the late William Grant and Clara Lockhart Hall, Mrs. Gilbert was born November 3, 1930 in Aberdeen, MS. She retired from Western Textiles and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church., where she volunteered in the Nursery during Mother’s Day Out. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death  by three of her sisters Edna Edwards, Marie Stanley, Oneta Nichols and her husband Earnest H. “Pete” Gilbert.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law  Helen and Claude  Fulp of Cordova, TN,  two nieces and their husbands Nancy and Paul Kelly and Dorothy and Richard Simmons,  one nephew and his wife Robert and Lynn Fulp  and one great nephew Jason Kelly.
