MARY GARDNER
Mary Catherine McKenzie Gardner, age 86, of Columbus, MS , passed away July 26, 2020, at Trinity Healthcare. Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at 10:00 AM at Moss Memorial Gardens near Laurel, MS, with Rev. John Musgrove officiating. Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory 903 College St. location is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Gardner was born July 27, 1933, in Mize, MS, to the late William Ernest and Mary Thelma Byrd McKenzie. She was a graduate of Mize High School and Jones County Junior College. Mrs. Gardner was a retired postmaster from the Crawford, MS, post office and was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church of Crawford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, G. C. Gardner, and brother, Arthur Ray McKenzie.
Survivors include her son, Grant Gardner and his wife Darlene of Columbus, MS, daughter, Kay Aasand and her husband Kenneth of Starkville, MS, and grandchildren, Kent Aasand, Dallas Aasand, Sallie Gardner Metcalf and her husband Griffin, Mary Gardner, and Tripp Gardner.
