MARY CARTER - Mary Lucille McDill Carter, age 86, of Columbus, MS, passed away October 5, 2023, at Trinity Healthcare. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel with Rev. Tim McDill officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
Mrs. Carter was born March 20, 1937, in Pickens County, AL, to the late Walter Thomas and Margie Beatrice McDowell McDill. Mrs. Carter worked as a self employed housekeeper for over 25 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Odell S. Carter, great grandson, Robert Brock Richardson, great granddaughter, Elayna Grace Carter, 9 brothers and 3 sisters.
Survivors include her sons, Steve Carter of West Point, MS, and Mike Carter and his wife Helen of Columbus, MS, daughters, Barbara McNutt and her husband Tom of Apollo Beach, FL, and Rena Hamrick and her husband Mark of Columbus, MS, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Boyd, Peyton Ford, Jordan Hamrick, M. J. Hamrick, Brett Richardson, and Tyler Eades
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Carter, Morris Knighton, Brock Richardson, Glen Rickard, and Troy Rickard.
