MARY ELLEN ALLISON

Mary Ellen Allison, age 77, of Columbus, MS, passed away October 13, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Vernon Church. Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Vernon Church Cemetery. Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Ellen was born October 20, 1943, in Hughes, AR, to the late Dorothy Drennan Doddridge and William Earl Beene Sr. She was a graduate of Hughes High School. Mary Ellen worked for many years at Beloit Manhattan in Columbus, MS before retiring. She was a long-time member of Mt. Vernon Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Hurdle and Ann Birdsong and her brother, William Earl Beene, Jr. survivors include her husband of 56 years, James Allison, her daughter, Jo Ellen James (Jeff) of Hoover, AL, her son, Sam Allison (Erika) of Columbus, MS, and grandchildren, Sydney James, Parker James, Isabella Allison, and Landry Allison.
