Martha Kendrick Harper, aged 89, of Columbus, MS and Houston, TX passed away June 8, 2021 at her home in Houston, TX.  Gravesite funeral services will be Friday, June 18 th at Friendship Cemetery at 11:00 am.  Visitation will be Thursday evening at 6:30 – 8:0 0pm at Memorial, Gunter and Peel , 903 College Street , Columbus, MS 39701

Mrs. Harper was born on Saturday, September 5, 1931 in Lowndes County, MS to the late Linon and Dovie Weathers.  She was a member of Central Methodist Church and later in life Cumberland Presbyterian in Columbus and John Wesley United Methodist Church in Houston, TX .  She was a retired office manager for Mississippi Valley Gas Company in Columbus.  She was married to the late Ruben Kendrick Sr. from September 5, 1954 until his passing on June 15 , 1990 and to the late Louis W. Harper , Sr. from May 25, 1991 until his passing August 30, 2004 . Her hobbies included playing golf, puzzles, painting and tending to her beloved dogs.

Survivors include her son, Ruben Kendrick, Jr. and his wife Marcia of Houston, TX , grandson Ruben Tyler Kendrick and his wife Andrea of Seattle, WA and grand daughter Meredith Marie Kendrick of Greenville, SC ., and nephew Christopher Weathers and wife Phadra of Columbus, MS . In addition to her parents and spouses , s he was preceded in death by her brother, Buddy Wayts Weathers of Columbus, MS.
