MARTHA DYER -

Martha Ann Burke Dyer, age 84, of Caledonia, MS, passed away October 20, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 11:00 AM at New Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Mel Howton officiating.  The interment will immediately follow at Egger Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at New Salam Baptist Church.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Dyer was born April 21, 1939, in Caledonia, MS, to the late Raymond Edward and Ila Lee Lockhart Burke.  She attended Caledonia High School and retired from McCoy Manufacturing and also retired as a school bus driver for the Lowndes County schools.  Mrs. Dyer was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and enjoyed the Senior Aerobics Class at the YMCA in Caledonia.  She dearly loved her two grandkids and she enjoyed being in her garden and mowing her yard.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ray Dyer, brother, Charles Edward Burke, and sister, Doris Conner.

Survivors include her son, Jason Dyer and his wife Tiffany of Caledonia, MS, grandchildren, Karah Dyer and Peyton Dyer, and nieces, Cheryl Stewart, Anita McKee, and Cindy Burke.

Pallbearers will be Jess Stewart, Jake Stewart, Jeff McKee, David Atkins, Blake Burke, Terry Fields, and Peyton Dyer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charlene Vail, Charlotte Cantrell, the staffs of the Transitional Care Unit and the Critical Care Unit of Baptist Memorial Hospital, and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class of New Salem Baptist Church.
