Mansie Hubert Hathcock, Jr.

May 21, 1932 - March 16, 2020

Mansie Hubert Hathcock, Jr., age 87, of Columbus, MS, passed away March 16, 2020, at Monroe Regional Hospital in Aberdeen, MS.  A private family committal will be Friday, March 20, 2020, at Corinth National Cemetery in Corinth, MS.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory, 903 College St. location, is in charge of arrangements.

The son of the late Mansie H. Hathcock, Sr., and Lizzie Mae McDonald Hathcock, Mr. Hathcock was born May 21, 1932, in Doerun, GA.  He grew up in the Baptist Church.  He retired as a SMSGT from the U. S. Air Force after 20 years and also from the United States Postal Service after 25 years.  He graduated from Rollins College in Orlando, FL, on May 26, 1979, with a degree in business.  While in the military, he traveled the world serving in the United States Navy and Air Force.  He served in the Korean War and Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Irene McAuley Hathcock, and son, John Mahlon Adams, Jr.  He is survived by his grandson Daniel Adams and his wife Christy, two great grandchildren, Lauren and Landon Adams, all of Columbus, MS, daughter-in-law, Sharon Adams of Hamilton, MS, sister-in-law, Mary Ann Keahl of Henderson, NV, and numerous cousins.
