Mamie Taylor

Mamie Carr Taylor, age 94, of Columbus, MS, passed away March 4, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be Friday, March 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery in Aberdeen, MS, with Rev. Dr. Vaughn Stafford officiating and Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory directing.

 Mrs. Taylor was born January 31, 1931, in Columbus, MS, to the late Buford Vernon and Johnnie McHenry Carr. Mrs. Taylor was a graduate of Lee High School and worked in the Four County Electric accounting department for a number of years. She worked for First Federal of Aberdeen and also owned and operated the Ponderosa Steak House of Aberdeen along with her late husband, Mack Taylor. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Carr, and sister, Sarah Boyde.

 Survivors include her brother, Jack Carr of Columbus, MS, nephews, John Carr and George Anderson, and nieces, Kathy Schoendorf and Valera Knight.

 Memorials may be made to the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 40105 New Prospect Rd., Hamilton, MS, 39746.
