Linda Dease

Linda Claire Roberts Dease, age 79, of Columbus, MS, passed away April 7, 2024, at her residence. Funeral service will be Monday, April 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel with Rev. Melvin Mordecai officiating. The internment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.

Mrs. Dease was born December 10, 1944, to the late Floyce Elmer Roberts and Vivian Vista Bowen Roberts. She was a 1962 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Atlanta, GA. She supported her family as a military spouse during her husband’s 20 years of service in the U.S. Air Force. She retired from the City of Columbus after 13+ years as Accounts Payable Clerk.  She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Richard S. Dease. She is survived by her daughters, Anita (Dwight) Cumberland of Caledonia, Lisa (Michael) George of Columbus; brother, Larry Roberts of Atlanta, GA; brother-in-law, Dennis (Sherry) Dease of FL; grandchildren, Jonathan (Lyndsay) Cumberland, Rachel (Jay) Reylander, Evan Pate; great grandchildren, Kenleigh Morrison, Olivia Cumberland & Elizabeth Cumberland.

The family expresses their appreciation to ComForCare of Columbus, especially, her regular caregiver, Annie English, and the staff of Baptist Hospice.
