Georgia Catherine Basinger of Columbus, Mississippi

Georgia Catherine  "Katie" Sanders Basinger, 90, died July 7, 2020 at Windsor Place in Columbus, MS. Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory, 2 ^nd Avenue North, was entrusted with her arrangements.

Mrs. Basinger was born November 25, 1929 to the late James Russell and Clara Pace Sanders in Alabama. She was a 1948 graduate of Stephen D. Lee Senior High School and a 1952 graduate of the Baptist School of Nursing, Memphis, TN with a RN degree. She worked for the late Dr. Henry Holleman at Doster Hospital for thirty years and the late  Dr. John Frazier for fifteen years. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Minnie Grace Sanders and Louise Sanders Homan.

She is survived by her husband Henry Basinger, of Caledonia, her son and daughter-in-law Bo and Judy Jarrett of Columbus and her stepdaughter and step son-in-law Anna Basinger Couch and Bobby of Starkville. She is also survived by her niece Mary Catherine Dunn, whom she raised, and her brother James Sanders and sister Maude Gardner.
