KATHARINE RAY - Katharine Marian Ray, age 73, of Columbus, MS, passed away June 23, 2022, at her residence. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel with Chaplain Carlos Ramos officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
Mrs. Ray was born July 13, 1948, in Orange, TX, to the late William and Doris Virginia Knoblock Edmondson. She was a graduate of Central High School and Hinds Community College. Mrs. Ray married her husband, Paul Rex Ray of Columbus, MS, in Tacoma, WA, and they moved to Columbus in 1981. Mrs. Ray attended the Columbus Air Force Base Chapel and Kolola Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her son, Paul "Andre" Ray of Columbus, MS, daughters, Marian "Sherene" Ray of Acworth, GA, and Nitra "Paige" Latta of Minot, ND, brothers, Hayden Edmondson of Jackson, MS, and Neal Edmondson of San Antonio, TX, sisters, Lisa Elrod of Acworth, GA, Laurin Ferguson of Tampa, FL, and Andrea Turman of Jackson, MS, and grandchildren, Troy Ethan Latta, Ryan Paul Latta, and Nicolas Rodriguez.
