JOHNNY BUSTER

John M. "Johnny" Buster, age 72 died Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus MS. Services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel 2nd Ave N. Chapel with Bro. Jay Street and Bro. Tony Lawrence officiating,  burial with full U.S. Air Force Honors will follow at Bethel Church of Christ Cemetery Vernon AL. Visitation will be held at Memorial Gunter Peel 2nd Ave N. Chapel Friday, January 18, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and again Saturday one hour prior to service.

Mr. Buster was born on Friday, August 09, 1946 in Augusta, GA to the late H.C. and Avie Murray Buster, Sr. He was a member of the Highway 69 Church of Christ and a lifetime member of the Mississippi Vietnam Veterans of America. Mr. Buster retired in 1988 from the U.S. Air Force where he as a recipient of the Purple Heart while serving in the Vietnam War, the Vietnamese Cross for Gallantry, the Bronze Star, and the Silver Star. He went on to serve 12 years as a military police officer in Spain, with his final tour of duty as Columbus Air Force Base.  He retired in June of 2007 as an officer with the Aberdeen Police Department after 18 years of service. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Benji Livingston, his grandson, Dustin Lee-Benton Turk, and his brother, H.C. “Buddy” Buster, Jr.
