JOHN ALLEN MITCHELL
John Allen Mitchell age 83 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 08, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus. Services will be held Friday, June 11, 2021 at 3:00 PM at the 716 2 nd Ave N. Chapel of Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home with Chaplin, Captain Timmie Henson officiating; burial with full U.S. Air Force Honors will follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.

John was born on September 16, 1937 in Birmingham, AL to the late William Eugene and Susan Luna Mitchell.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He volunteered his time at the Base Chapel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Marie Mitchell, his son Johnny Lee Mitchell, his sisters, Jackie Eugene Davis and Rosa Nell Hayward, and his brother, William “Boots” Mitchell.
