John Franklin Dodson, 79, died Sunday, July 24, 2022, at his residence in Caledonia.

Funeral services will be
held at Border Springs Baptist
Church on Wednesday, July
27, 2022, at 11:00 AM , with
Rev. P.J. Mortenson and Rev.
David Westmoreland officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9:00
AM until service time at the church. Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. Dodson was born February 16, 1943, in Columbus, MS, to the late J.C. and Frances Dodson. He was a lifelong member of Border Springs Baptist Church. John loved his family dearly, and enjoyed racing and spending time with his two golden retrievers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Brenda Richards Dodson; sons, Mike Dodson (Missy) and Mark Dodson (Ashley Athas and her son Chandler Young); grandchildren, Ashley Wilson (Sidney), Taylor Brown (Tyler) and J.C. Dodson; and great granddaughter, Scarlett Wilson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Harold Partain, Willis Peek, Walter Dodson, Miles Parker, Darren Black, David Honnoll, Doug Wiggins and Dana Evans.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Atkins, Ron Goodwin, Rod Aldridge, Chuck Jordan, Wayne McLemore, John Partain, Bob Fleming, Keith Floyd, Wilburn Beatty and the Members of the Adult II Sunday School Class at Border Springs Baptist Church.
