JOE M. HENDRIX

Joe M. Hendrix, born May 23, 1937, son of Talmadge and Iva Barnhill Hendrix from Louisville, Ms, passed away May 9, 2019. He was 81 years old.

Mr. Hendrix is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hendrix, son Joe B. Hendrix and his wife Shari, daughter Tammy Hendrix, and his son Jeff Hendrix and his wife Laura. He had four grandchildren, Jeffrey Lane Hendrix II, Lauren Hendrix, Sudduth Fuller, and Britt Cockrell and his wife Missy and two great grandchildren, Jordan and Trace Cockrell. He also is survived by five sister: Joy Childs, Barbara Matthews, Linda Childs and her husband Randy, Rebecca Ellis, and Sue Quebedeau. He is survived by his aunt, Anne Hendrix and her sons Jody Hendrix, Perry Hendrix and his wife Nancy.

Mr. Hendrix was an electrician and a member of IBEW local 917 for sixty years. He was a member of Woodmen Life for 52 years serving as president of Chapter 54 of the local Woodmen Life since 1998. He served as president of the Caldwell Sports Booster club in 1977.

He was a faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church since 1998 and was a member of Billy Bozeman’s Sunday School class.

Pall Bearers will be Gene Childs, Caleb Childs, Bryan Childs, Steve Hendrix, Sheryl Hendrix, Chip Ellis, Randy Childs, Jody Hendrix, and Jeffrey Lane Hendrix II.

Honorary Pall Bearers will be Fred Richardson, Isaiah Richardson, Jack and Sarah Crowley, Jim Bebe, Butch and Mitzi Coley, Kevin McAdory, Lennie Turner, IBEW Local 917, Billy Bozeman and his Sunday School Class, Garrett Emerson, Charles and Marianne Stafford, Thomas and Faye Morgan, Jane Harper, Carolyn Johnson, Oedia Jenkins, Reverend Charles Sylvest, Reverend Ken Huss, Dr. Larry Bradford, Reverend Sam Taylor, Reverend David Dees, Deb Shelton, and Patsy Winklepleck.

Mr Hendrix was always willing to help out in anyway he could, he was loved by many and will be missed by those he touched. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church at 127 Airline Rd., Columbus, MS 39702 in memory of Joe Hendrix.
