Jody Mcknight Weiss

July 2, 1933 — March 16, 2019

Jody McKnight Weiss, age 85, of Columbus, MS, passed away March 16, 2019, at her residence.  Graveside services will be Monday, March 18, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Anne Harris officiating.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory 2 nd Ave. North location is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Weiss was born July 2, 1933, in Cleveland, MS, to the late Joe A. and Era Sue Carver McKnight.  She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where she served on the Vestry and as president of The Women of the Church.  She was a member of Daughters of the King and St. Anne’s guild and taught third grade Sunday school class for a number of years.  Jody was a life member of Columbus Junior Auxiliary.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Curtis McKnight and Elmo McKnight, and sister, Oline Payne.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Weiss of Columbus, MS, daughters, Wendy Weiss, Risa Mansfield and her husband Ken, and Welissa Radar and her husband Greg, all of Columbus, MS, brother, Roy McKnight and his wife Vickie of Ackerman, MS, grandchildren, Jody Pace and her husband Dustin of Medford, OR, Blakeney Black and her husband Jake of Columbus, MS, Brice Radar and his wife Kelsea of Memphis, TN, and Bailey Radar of Atlanta, GA, and 6 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Greg Radar, Ken Mansfield, Brice Radar, Jake Black, Mickey Brislin, and Clay Terrell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Berry, Charles Russell Berry, Reau Berry, Scott Berry, Duke Berry, and Greg Puckett.
