JO BERRY KELLY

Joe Berry Kelly of Columbus, MS, faithful husband, fun Dad, hero radiologist, Irish Setter collector, undaunted Ole Miss football fan, fair weather golfer, shell-seeker, trespassing arrowhead hunter, adored son, brother, and nephew died on October 6, 2021.

From his devotion to family, commitment to patients, storied adventures from Heritage Academy, Ole Miss, med school, golf courses and creeks across Mississippi, he’s left an indelible mark on those who shared this life with him.  He was happiest with Alicia raising Andrew and Kendall, working complicated cases as a doc, looking for arrowheads with his dogs, impulsive buyer of expensive toys (without asking Alicia), pulling for Ole Miss, telling really great stories, and starting (and sometimes finishing) new projects.  Although way too short for us all, he lived his life to the fullest.

Joe Berry is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Berry Kelly, Sr, and survived by his wife Alicia Patureau Kelly, children Andrew and Kendall Kelly, his mother Hedi Pilkinton Konieczny, Madelyn Kelly and Anna Patureau, his Papa Richard Beneke, his sisters Cauley Kelly (Mitch) von Hoffman and Candace (Jordi Goni) Beneke, his brothers Jeff (Lydia) and Jonathan (Crystal) Kelly, and Philip Patureau, his aunts and uncles Melinda Pilkinton, Charlie (Cathy), Dave (Janet), and Jim (Pat) Pilkinton, and Jack , Jim (Cheryl) Rob (Ann) Kelly, Susie Kelly (Ed) Nelson,  many more Kellys, Pilkintons and Benekes, and countless lifelong friends.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of his life to be held at 250 Wolfe Creek Drive, Starkville (off Hwy 45 Alternate) at 11:00 am Saturday, October 9.  If you’re coming, casual/Saturday afternoon/golf attire is appropriate
